End Factory Farming Now! CAFO's Are Torture Chambers!

Dear Elected Officials and Lawmakers,

We the undersigned ask that CAFOs be banned and closed immediately.
CAFOs ie Factory Farms are torture for animals, devastating to the environment, a public health hazard, and they are detrimental to economic growth. 

This type of barbaric animal husbandry is out of step with the values of the average American citizen. We demand a return to a government by the people and for the people, rather than, a government for the lobbyists by the lobbyists. 

The recent attempts by several states to ban filming on factory farms is a very good indicator that the industry is aware that their behavior is unacceptable to the majority of US citizens. Rather than attempt to fix these issues, instead they try to hide them. This tactic will no longer work, as more and more mainstream media have begun broadcasting the truth. 
There are new studies out which have proven 50% of all randomly tested meat in US food stores is contaminated with MRSA.  This is indeed caused by antibiotic over use, which is unavoidable when forcing tens of thousands of animals to live in their own excrement.  Another unavoidable contaminant is e coli.

We must as a country, put first the desires of our citizens, rather than that of big business. We also must put the health and well-being of our citizens, above corporate greed. 

A revolution towards a plant based diet is imminent.  The EU and the UN are calling for a worldwide shift to a vegan diet. Meat based diets are unsustainable.  Meat based diets and factory farming contribute more to global warming than all forms of fossil fuel transports combined. Meat based diets are the cause of 95% of all disease in America.  Meat based diets are the cause of world hunger, starvation and death. 

CAFO's have destroyed the family farm. They have turned land owners into indentured servants. They also contaminate any area where they are situated, and cause massive loss to surrounding property values. Nobody wants 30,000 chickens or 20,000 hogs shoved into a shed next to their house. The only people who benefit from CAFOs are the Big Agro businesses, not even the land owners. Because the land owners are now owned by the corporations, they are indebted to these companies. Once a big Ag company has its shed on your property they own you. This is a huge debt that a farmer can never pay off. This is modern day slavery in America. 

Where is the accountability for the massive environmental damage? Where are the fines that should be imposed and enforced on these illegal company practices?  If Joe Citizen dumped literally tons and tons of waste on a neighbors property he would be arrested, jailed, and fined. Why are companies like Purdue, Smithfield, Monsanto, Tyson etc able to do what they will, with no consequences? If those companies actually had to pay fines for the laws, which they are currently breaking on a daily basis, they would be out of business. If Joe is not above the law, then why are they? The only plausible explanation is that the politicians are in their pockets. Well be assured your jobs as representatives of this country are by no means secure.
