STOP Hunting Preserve to Open In Grainger County, TN!

Target:
Exotic Hunting Preserve to Open in Tennessee
Sponsored by:
Along the quiet Dry Valley Road in Grainger County, Tennessee about 45 minutes from Knoxville, Clinch Mountain Hunting Adventures will unveil it's grand opening in September.

Robert Haun, the deviant behind this madness, moved into the area, bringing with him dozens of exotic animals such as zebras, buffalo, hogs and deer.  For a fee that ranges between $600 and $10,000, one would be able to hunt down and kill any of the animals on this 20 acre site.

The Grainger County Humane Society calls this activity a "canned hunt", even though some members make it clear that they do not oppose hunting!

In his defense, Robert Haun claims that "folks just don't understand".  "They think it's up here behind a big, high fence, the animals have nowhere to go.  As you can see, there's plenty of places for the animals to hide that we cannot access".

But the real truth is that this a most inhumane activity.  These innocent animals are brought to this preserve for the sole purpose of being hunted down and killed.  It's a cruel and thoughtless slaughter, being masked as "sport".

Currently, there is a petition being started to increase the acreage for the preserve from 20 acres to 1,000.  This is still not good enough, as it still allows this insanity to continue, and defenseless, frightened animals to be hunted down and killed.

Please help stop this violent act to take place by signing this petition to ban this preserve from opening it's doors in September, Robert Haun to have animal cruelty charges brought against him, and to re-route the animals within the preserve's confines to a comfortable and safe refuge elsewhere, away .  Thank you so much for your support!!

People, like Robert Haun, who have a need to hunt defenseless animals, are truly mentally ill! We must keep these people from destroying the precious lives of these animals. Common Grainger County....this is not about the MONEY, it's about doing the RIGHT thing!

one more idiocy of people who think they can move into an family area of farms and make a quick buck. 20 acres are NOT enough space/distance from the next farm to be shooting high powered guns for killing large animals. the other issue is the IN-HUMANESS of it all. Men who think that shooting " fish in a barrel" is sport are small, petty, have no concept of "sportsmanship" and usually have issues with their man-hood or lack there-of. What kind of care will these animals receive prior to being mutilated by these jerks who plan to hunt them? Will these so called hunters be licensed by the state?

I have a friend who is what I call the "ultimate hunter/fisherman." He told me many years ago about hearing of a place like Mr. Haun's. He even went there, but was disgusted by what he saw. Now, this is a guy that will shoot a rabbit in his driveway for dinner. But that was not for sport and that rabbit was not placed in a confined space for the sole prospect of some "wannabe" that spends thousands of dollars on an "outfit" and "gear" just to drive his/her camouflaged Hummer inside a fence where they keep the game in and readily available. I sure hope this place never opens; and if it does, I sure hope everyone who patronizes it realizes how desparate they must be to go to such extremes to justify their need to kill some critter on those terms. They are not true hunters. That really is disgusting. Thanks for your petition and all your hard work. I sure hope it helps.

Killing animals is completely inhumane, especially when they are fenced in and cannot escape.

There is no challenge, skill or sportsmanship in killing defenseless animals trapped on a 20 acre preserve. What a disgrace for East Tennessee and especially Grainger County!

I'm always disappointed in our society when I read a story like this. It's hard to understand the cruelty brought on by certain people, whether the owner or the hunters.

This is unacceptable. Cody, you hit the nail on the head when you said "rednecks".

Unbelievable. And we wonder why our society is becoming more and more violent?

I cannot believe that Grainger County would allow this to happen. It is hard enough for me to handle the people in Tennessee that go deer hunting, but at least they have the excuse of over population. These innocent animals have been brought to a place where they don't even belong to be slaughtered for no other reason than "entertainment". How dare Mr. Haun bring this sort of disgusting madness to East Tennessee, and how dare we put up with it!!! I wonder how Robert Haun would feel if someone put him out on his twenty acres, without any weapons of his own, no natural defenses, and without the knowledge that he was even in danger...even with "plenty of places to hide"...to hunt HIM down. That he would use this statement to defend his horrible actions...that on TWENTY ACRES these animals have places to hide??? Please. This man purchased animals with no other intention but to KILL THEM. How is this not against the law???

I think this kind of activity is the same as fishing with dynamite. You might as well allow the rednecks to go hunting at the zoo. It should definately be banned.

This is awful and I am embarassed to be from a state that would allow this type of "hunting" within its jurisdiction.

Exotic Hunting Preserve , Robert Haun, ALONG WITH TN PUBLIC OFFICIALS THAT HAVE ALLOWED SUCH ATROCITY TO EXIST, ARE FOUND NON COMPLAINT WITH WHAT IS KNOWN HUMANITY TOWARDS ANIMALS. THEREFORE, UNTIL SUCH TIME FOUND IN COMPLIANCE, CANCERS OF HARDSHIPS WITH DEVASTATION WILL PLAGUE THEM AND THEIRS WITH COMPASSION SHOWN PROPORTIONATE TO THE COMPASSION THEY'VE ELECTED FOR THESE ANIMALS. THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE.

I think that this canned hunting is ridiculous, I have lived in tennessee for my whole life and i have never seen anything so ignorant. Hunting is a sport and not suppose to be used on other widlife like the one shown on t.v. This really makes me feel outraged to think that any person would pay 6000 dollars to kill an innocent animal who has no chance of survival or a chance to get away.

Why do people still need to kill? If they are not killing for food, where is the excuse? Extremes of violence and inhumanity in people need to be addressed. Where are the educators and the legislators? In simile? Please put a stop to these practices. They are barbaric and inhuman.
