Stop the Genocide of Pit Bulls & Bulldogs in Florida!
Pit bull looking dogs are being killed all throughout Florida in increasingly larger numbers. In some counties, they are reportedly being killed by the hundreds every day. These dogs are killed based on the way they look not their temperament. This could be happening at your own local animal "shelter" or pound! In Polk County, it has been said that over a hundred pit bulls are killed each day. Apparently, they will not adopt out ANY pit bulls, increasing the number of pit bulls and pit bull looking dogs that get killed.
We shouldn't discriminate against a dog based on how it looks. These are dogs that deserve a chance at life. The fact that so many of them are being killed without a chance is absolutely horrendous. Pit bull discrimination and bans are just not effective!
Polk County Animal Services is allowing organizations such as Mike's Dog House, a dog rescue based out of Palatka, Fl, to rescue bullies from the county shelter. They are working to rescue adoptable dogs from Polk to match them with caring, permanent families. However, rescuing dogs costs money and donations have been low. I have helped place 4 bullies in the last 6 months and recently rescued and have up for adoption two out of three bullies to be put down. I love my dogs, they are like my children and I would never have another breed other than a bulldog. They are wonderful pets and companions...
My son rescued a pit. When we got her she had scars on her back. All she needed was love. She wants to be good and loves to be trained. The more I teach her the happier she is. She even goes to the bathroom on command. She lives with 9 indoor cats (so much for the bad rap).
I own 2 pitbulls (1 is rescued) and these dogs deserve understanding! Some people are too ignorant to learn the facts and are trigger-happy (no pun intended) to rid the face of the earth of this breed. They are loving family members that make my life, as well as that of my wife, a happier place.
my 2 childeren has grow up whit 6 of those dogs, they are now keeping eche 2 of those dogs them self now and they got childeren himself now 2 and never had 1 bad thing happend in all of those years . we better get alot harder on those how treated those dogs on the wrong way!!! i really think it's crazzy and for me a reason to stay away from country's like this blehhhhhhhhh and you can find a lot more of this storry's i no why keep your self stuppid and still keeping t this way !!!
I recently had a stray Rednose Pittbull wander up in my yard. This dog was ther nicest dog that I think I have ever been around. Today we returned the dog to it's owner and we arec ompletely in love with her. The REd never made the 1st bark was scared of my cat, and slept with the cat for the 2 days we had her in our possession. Bull Dogs as with any other animal have the ability to be aggressive, it's the owners responsibility to make sure the dog is not a dangerous dog in the way they raise them.
I own 5 pitbulls. These dogs are the most loyal and friendly dogs I have ever had.

They like humans are a product of their enviroment! Look at Mike Vicks pitbull dogs, ALL of the dogs, even though trained and abused to fight, were adopted out after a little TLC (and rehab for some). The only 1 that didnt make it was because she was too ill. A MONUMENTAL CASE. PROOF THEY CAN BE SAVED. JUST AS WE HUMANS CAN. AND THINK ABOUT IT. . . WE HUMANS ARE THE SICKOS! NOT THE ANIMALS! |

Taht is inhumane to kill an animal on its breed. i have 2 wonderful girl pit bulls that are part of the family, and for someone to kill an intelligent, pleasing, lovable animal is wrong.
Our family has had bull dogs, all types for the past 22 years. They have been like our children and protected us. We have a blue pitt right now who loves our 18 month old grandson. All bull dogs are not bad. Twenty years ago it was the dobermans that were the bad dogs.
I own a chocolate rednose pit. There is nothing wrong with him. He is my best dog.
This needs to stop. Pit bulls are great family pets. I own a love able pit bull she is part of our family!
Stop the destroying of Pit Bulls! I sincerely believe it is the owners who do not take the responsibility of raising them correctly. To many are being euthanized for just having the name of "PIT". People that use them to fight should never be allowed to own any type of animal and be branded they use animals to fight!!!
Our government is absolutely pathetic if they're trying to outlaw a breed of dogs. Escepcially when that breed happens to be the most loving. -_-'

The american pit bull terrier is the MOST LOVING, family pet i or any one i know who has owned one has ever experienced, and i grew up on a ranch with collies and german shepards, the (apbt's)is smarter as well. The apbt lacks the human agression found in so many other breeds of dogs due to two hundred years of selective breeding elemenating "man biters". If the truth where to be sought out from knowledgeable real dog authorities instead from biased groups that want to see this wonderfull dogs dimise, and/or anywho doubted was to take one of those abandonded puppys/dogs home they would beleive.
