Take a Stand for Americans and stop the golden parachutes

Target:
Stop the Bailout and put money in your pocket!

Subject: The AIG solution

I'm against the $85 BILLION bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a "We Deserve It" dividend.  To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bona fide U.S. citizens, aged 18 .

Our population is about 301 million counting every man, woman and child.  So, 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up. Now, divide 200 million, 18 adults into $85 billion - that equals $425,000.00 each!   Yes, my plan is to give that $425,000 to every adult as a "We Deserve It" dividend.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free.  So, let's assume a tax rate of
30%.  Everyone would pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25.5 billion right back to Uncle Sam!  It also means that every adult 18 has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife would have $595,000.00!

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00?

Pay off your mortgage %u2013 housing crisis solved. Repay college loans %u2013 what a great boost to new grads. Put away money for college %u2013 it'll really be there. Save in a bank %u2013 create money to loan to entrepreneurs. Buy a new car %u2013 create jobs . Invest in the market %u2013 capital drives growth. Pay for your parent's medical insurance %u2013 health care improves. Enable Deadbeat  Parents  to come clean %u2013 or else.

Remember this is for every adult U.S. citizen, 18 and older (including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehmann Brothers and every other company that is cutting back) and of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it!   Instead of trickling out a puny $1,000.00 economic incentive.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U.S. citizen!!

As for AIG %u2013 liquidate it.

Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

We deserve the money and AIG doesn't.  Sure it's a crazy idea, but can you imagine the coast-to-coast block party?!

How do you spell Economic Boom? W-e  D-e-s-e-r-v-e  I-t d-I-v-I-d-e-n-d!  I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion "We Deserve It" dividend more than do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington, D.C..

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 billion because $25.5 billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.

No one should make more than the POTUS as their job isn't as important and as we have seen, CEO's aren't there during a crisis or to answer for the problems. They take their money and run and let jobs go into the dirt. They helped ruin this country with no responsiblity to any of us citizens.

Funny, cute, ha, ha,ha. Get a spreadsheet and do the math again. 85 Billion divided by 200 million is only $425 per person, Heidi.

My math comes in at about $4000.00 for each adult 18 and up, which is a somewhat more modest stimulus, but still an important contribution to the economy as witten above or as part of a comprehensive trickle up plan.

AIG set my PMI at a higher rate becuase of my credit rating??????????????? And they got a bail out for their mismanagement, wheres my bail out from past finicial errors. This bail out is all bs. Why is anyone even believing this is a financial crisis, just like weapons of mass destruction, bs.

I am a citizen, and a veteran of four years military service.I did not give up those precious years of my youth to have this great country ruined by greed. We are a nation with a 59 trillion dollar debt. What level of mindlessness are the members of Congress operating at? Stop the madness, and stop it now! There must be no salaries involved, not one American dime.

The era of private profits and public bail-outs must end. If "we the people" don't rise up - nothing will change. We must reclaim democracy, or fall to imperialism.

If the money could truly be distributed to the American adults, the entire country would be better off and if the money could be applied to those in "mortgages" it would benefit the housing market. I think the idea is a great one...my family would benefit greatly!

I think this is a good idea! Instead of lining corperate america's pockets send it to the Americans that deserve it, who pay their taxes and who don't need to send their hard earned money to bail out mismanaged companys
