We respectfully call upon the HSE/Government to investigate all handling of Funding Bodies, Groups, and Representatives, allowing all information/findings made Publicly available, in particular, for the benefit of Survivors of Institutional Child Abuse.

THERE is no record or evidence of how anyone except a select inner circle benefited over a 10-year period in which the State was funding an organisation for survivors of institutional abuse, it has been claimed.

One Support Group in particualr which has been in crisis since last year following revelations that donated money was not filtering down to members, has been funded to the tune of at least €2.4 million by the HSE since 2002, with more than €1m coming from the Department of Education, these figures do not include unknown amounts from religious orders. Despite ongoing concerns the HSE continues to fob off queries in relation to one particular Group and is ignoring requests for a full and independent investigation into how millions of euro in taxpayers’ money has been spent. All Support Groups have been Funded Millions of Pounds during a nine Year period. Victims are angry, hurt and frustrated. They feel they have never been listened to, or received the practical support/assistance (contrary to Public belief) detriment to their needs. To add insult to injury, Victims are fully aware of Monies given supposedly for their benefit, and are still locked into an ongoing battle, to fight for the support they so desperately need. Victims do not want Representation in any form, which most see as a smoke screen used to prevent any real support/Aid actually reaching them. Millions have been Given and survivors are in the same, if not worse, position as before. It is time to give them the dignity and respect they rightfully deserve, by dealing with them directly and in a open, fair and transparent manner.

We must expose corruption at all levels for in the end it affects the most vulnerable of any society.

We, the undersigned, ( Survivors of Institutional Child Abuse, not Affiliated with any such Support Group) respectfully ask of you the following;

1. Disband all Survivor of Institutional Child Abuse Support Groups, including those who purport  to Represent us without a Mandate to do so, with immediate effect.


2. 
   Open and make Public a thorough investigation of all Organisations Income/expenditure during the last Nine Years, holding those Accountable for any Corruptive practices or misdemeanors.


3. 
   Give the Victims of Institutional Abuse what is rightfully theirs and, Support them appropriately on an individual basis, so as to prevent further prolonged and unecessary Physical/Emotional distress.
