Graves Bros. Barber shop has been owned and operated by Caleb Graves and brother Burrel Graves for over 40 years. It resides in the Willow springs district on the east side of San Antonio providing jobs for young men in this community and beyond. For years barbers have worked tirelessly giving of themselves to ensure pride and professionalism in the area.
I my self have been a barber for over 15 years at Graves Bros. where Ive been taught so many life lessons. I am Mykel Mcdavid grandson of Caleb Graves and i have since inherited the business. I have been operating the shop for 9 years now. During my tenure i have given out free haircuts to the underprivileged children which is a tradition done by my grandfather and his now deceased brother.  I carry this on with pride knowing that i might touch someones life with the talents Ive been blessed with.
The barber shop is located in a strip center placed in front of an apartment complex. When the strip was built in 1967 it had small black business on the east side in mind. The rest is history! Graves Bros. is one of the last standing original black barber shops on the east side of San Antonio standing strong since 1971.
A new owner has since taken over the apt. complex and they want to do away with the shop due to unknown reasons.  This barber shop has been in this location for over 40 years serving San Antonio and making a difference. Dont let a big corporation drive the small business man out of his home. Stand up for whats right. STOP BULLYING!
