Harsher Punishment for Animal Cruelty

  • by: Aidan Lee

In the UK the justice system does not take animal welfare seriously. The punishments in place for many forms of animal cruelty are not sufficient for the crime committed.

If you are convicted of an offence under the Animal Welfare Act, you may have your animals taken away from you or be banned from keeping animals, or both; fined up to £20,000; or sent to prison for a maximum term of 51 weeks.

Help show animals lives are worth far more than a fine or relatively short jail term.
