URGENT - TELL THE MAYOR OF GANDIA TO PAY OUR LOCAL SHELTER THE 207,400 EUROS HE OWES

PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE.  SPAMA LA SAFOR, GANDIA, SPAIN is a NO KILL SHELTER which is home to HUNDREDS of abandoned animals who receive excellent veterinary treatment, they are always sterilized before adoption, their large kennels are immaculately clean, dogs are walked daily, loved and beautifully cared for, some have been terribly abused, they are looked after separately and given extra special TLC. The Mayor of Gandia, Arturo Torro who has a duty of care to the shelter and animals now owes 207,400 EUROS which despite repeated promises he will not pay.  This is the SAME MAYOR who since the three years he has been in power reintroduced Bullfighting to GANDIA, THREE BULLFIGHTS IN THREE YEARS - a total of 18 innocent bulls slaughtered, this was outlawed 25 years ago - but Torro brought this BARBARIC MASSACRE back.  His sense of responsibility and legal requirement is somewhat lacking to say the least.  Animal Lovers as far away as Germany and Holland are sending emergency donations of food and bedding, it is winter here now, our animals need food, warmth and access to medical treatment.  Volunteers are driving many miles to collect donations, this should not be happening, these animals are being denied a second chance of a happy and loved life.  PLEASE SIGN, DEMANDING MAYOR ARTURO TORRO FACES UP TO HIS LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY AND PAYS OUR 'NO KILL' SHELTER, STAND UP FOR OUR ANIMALS - YOU ARE THEIR ONLY VOICE, I BEG OF YOU TO USE IT - THEY NEED YOU ALL SO BADLY.

Since I posted the last update yesterday evening, I have received a couple of lovely messages offering help and advice, which is so nice. A Pony was tied up at the shelter gates this Christmas Eve, with no funds SPAMA took the scared baby in and found a horse lover and a STABLE where she is currently being lovingly cared for. We have no money but could not turn our backs. THIS IS WHAT NO KILL SHELTERS DO - WE RESCUE. Merry Christmas to our Supporters, you have backed a Good Cause.

We Thank our Supporters, all those who have dug deep and made Donations and kept messages of support flowing. This Petition should have gone VIRAL, sadly it didn't and our abandonados are still suffering because of a Criminal Mayor. I can do nothing more, my heart aches for our animals, they are facing a Sad Christmas. I am now closing the Petition, not enough people cared, MUCHAS GRACIAS to those who cared so MUCH. Distressing news, from 1st December we will no longer be able to pick up any more abandoned animals, the Shelter is in imminent danger of closing entirely after 30 years of operating a No Kill Policy, some animals are with us for LIFE if they are too traumatized for adoption WE NEED YOUR HELP`our abandonados will have nowhere to go, this is tearing us apart. Staff are being laid off, we are pleading for used medicines. PLEASE SHARE, FACEBOOK, TWITTER. PLEASE KEEP US OPEN

Dear Animal Lovers and Supporters. We have now reached between us in excess of 1000 Signatures, THANK YOU so much. The nights are getting colder here now, the rains have arrived, I cannot bear another winter without adequate supplies for these beloved animals.
