Recently in Nassau County, someone found an abandoned box full of 28 baby chickens.  Authorities are hoping that someone knows or saw something around the Petland Discount Store on Fulton Avenue in Hempstead of Nassau County.

An employee found the box, all taped-up and chirping.  When the box was opened, the individual found 28 baby chicks inside.  The chicks were taken to the vet that day and SPCA of Nassau County was alerted about the incident.  They state that this is a clear case of animal cruelty and abandonment.

A reward of $2,000 is being offered for anyone with information on this case.  We need to encourage the Hempstead, Nassau County Law Enforcement to further investigate this case and punish the person or persons responsible!!
