Allow Veterans a Drug-Free Alternative for PTSD Treatment!

  • by: C. McCain
  • recipient: Lieutenant General Patricia D. Horoho, Army Surgeon General

Studies prove that FDA Approved, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or (HBOT) is a highly effective drug-alternative treatment  for Troops and Veterans suffering with Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Yet the Veteran’s Administration will not pay for the treatment!

Although 1.2 million dollars has been granted by the government for further study of HBOT, existing studies already prove it is a safe and effective alternative to prescription drugs and costs about the same!

The VA should pay for alternative PTSD/TBI treatments that are proven effective and safe!

Give our Veterans and Troops choices in their medical care! Ask the VA to pay for HBOT treatments now, rather than waiting for further, needless studies that could take years and waste millions of dollars!

Dear Lt General Patricia Horoho,

There is no justifiable reason for the Veteran’s Administration to refuse to pay for HBOT treatments for our nation’s veterans and troops. Many service members would rather heal their bodies, than continue to mask their TBI/PTSD symptoms with dangerous and addictive drugs.

Studies by the nation's leading research for HBOT state the following very clearly:

". . . improvements were seen in 92% of vets experiencing short-term memory problems, 87% of those complaining of headaches, 93% of those with cognitive deficits, 75% with sleep disruption, and 93% with depression. There were also improvements in irritability, mood swings, impulsivity, balance, motor function, IQ, and blood flow in the brain, as well as the reduction in PTSD symptoms and suicidal thoughts. And there was a reduction in—or complete elimination of—psychoactive and narcotic prescription medication usage in 64% of those previously prescribed the medication."

Please allocate funds to the Veteran’s Administration for HBOT and give our service members a choice in their own medical care!

Sincerely,
