Please Remove Bengals From Unsafe Living Conditions!

In June 2012 a hoarder of cats was arrested for probation violation. Her large number of cats, total number unknown but at least 15, not counting the cats pregnant & the newborns, were left in the home with no food, no water, no air conditioning. This wasn't much different than their normal living conditions but since the hoarder was home, Animal Care & Control did nothing to help. Once she went to jail, it was almost a week before anyone went in to rescue the cats, but they were eventually pulled out of the home. On July 3, 2012 these cats, minus the ones that died in the home, were released back to the hoarder unspayed & unneutered.

Our goal is to get these cats out of an environment where there is no stable source of food, no running water, no air conditioning, no veterinary care if they are sick. The owner is soon to be homeless & her plan is to live in her car with all these cats. There are several rescues ready and waiting to help these cats. But help is needed. Please sign and share!

Dear Mayor Thomas J. Price,

We as a community are shocked and dismayed that Brevard County Animal Care and Control willingly and knowingly placed  unaltered and pregnant cats back with a known hoarder. We urge you to step in and help these cats.

They are living in conditions that are less than adequate. The owner of the home admits that she does not have air conditioning and it frequently gets above 80-85 degrees. There is no running water, no money for food/kitty litter or vet care should a cat need it and she has freely admitted she performs any vet care needed.

She has allowed many cats to inbreed in the past causing health problems for the cats, some not making it. Her home is in foreclosure, her plan is to live in the car with them. There are several rescue organizations, ours included, with a plan in place; willing to step in and care for the cats.

Several of the cats rescued from this home just the month before had serious health problems coming out that were expensive to treat, some of them would not have survived living there much longer.

We urge and beg you to help these cats. They did not ask for this life style, all they want is to be loved; to be taken care of.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for taking the time to care.
