OCRC - Continue to act, support, maintain, and defend the Outreach Community & Reform Center

Since the Outreach Community & Reform Center (OCRC) was established in 2006, our mission has been focused on building a strong American-Muslim community in Malden and its surrounding cities, which lives according to the Islamic way of life as best practiced in the context of American society.

Over the years, we have worked to Invest in Our Youth to better help them understand how to live Islam in America. We established an after school program with over 170 students that teaches our children Arabic and Quran. We also have a youth program every Saturday that teaches our children Islamic principles so that through their actions and words they can make da’wa, and be the leaders of tomorrow and set an example to their fellow Muslim and non-Muslim friends, classmates, and neighbors, and help them to maintain their Islamic identity.

We have also worked hard to teach our community as a whole how to best live out the principles and legal edicts in the Quran & Sunnain American Society. Therefore, we have brought many scholars and leaders over the years to provide workshops and lectures to focus on this mission.

Inspired by the Prophet’s (P.B.U.H) own efforts to build strong relationships with non-Muslims, we also have made it a focus to build bridges of respect and trust with our neighbors of different faiths, our mayor, and our city officials to demonstrate the true essence of Islam, such as: mercy, peace, and respect. This work has helped to debunk the myths about our great religion in Malden and its surrounding cities and led to da’wa for our faith.

Unity of our Umma is another major theme of our center. It is for this reason that we recently made the decision to merge with the Islamic center in Everett and combine our human and financial assets to grow our impact in the surrounding areas. It is also for this reason that the (OCRC) has been open to Muslims of all different backgrounds, ethnicities, and Islamic viewpoints. “Indeed, there is no compulsion in religion” (la ikrah fid-deen).

Alhamdulillah, with Allah’s aid and from your generous support, our community has accomplished a lot. The number of our congregants is growing; our donations are increasing; we have a very successful family program every Saturday, a sister’s committee program, and we have built a great reputation in Malden area among our neighbors. When one of our sisters was harassed last year, the entire city of Malden condemned this act. Even the mayor led a parade to show his support for the Muslim community.

We the OCRC want to ensure this vision of our center remains protected as we head into the future with this important merger with the Everett Islamic Center. With Allah’s aid and your support we will continue building a stronger American Muslim community.

Please support this vision and sign the petition today. Jazakumu Allah khairan, and May Allah bless you.

Dear OCRC Board of Directors & Board of Trustees,

We are concerned citizens and members who request and urge our leaders (BOD’s BOT’s) of the (OCRC) to act now on continuing to act, support, maintain, and defend the Outreach Community & Reform Center.
