Demand A Natural Disaster Be Declared For Excessive Summer Heat In Arkansas

Arkansas has been experiencing excessive, EXTREME summer heat for several years now during the summer. With no real spring, fall or winter(all are abnormally warm). I have noted temperatures of 90 degrees plus consistently for weeks, months on in...during the time that I have visited family there. I was born and raised in Arkansas, and know that this is not the kind of weather I grew up in. I now live in Illinois, but I visit family regularly, as I am currently retired. It saddens me to see my family struggle to live here and other people such as the poor, elderly, children, and the disabled. They simply ignor this conumdrum in the media; give no warnings, or safe havens, or specific financial assistance with utilitu bills. Its simply to hot to go outside. You can't look forward to summer anymore...,plants, grass and other vegetation whither, or burn up in the sun and heat. Electric bills are sky high, my sister have to spread the payments out over several months (praying to have them paid before "summer" comes back, because you simply cannot SURVIVE here without AIR CONDITIONING. I want the state to be declared a NATURAL DISASTER area during this time of the year, and more programs put in place to help residents who are effected by these EXTREME conditions.
