Urge Yum Foods to Offer Paid Sick and Vacation Days to Workers

People who work in the fast food industry often are highly committed to what they do, expend great energies in serving the public, and frequently want and deserve to better themselves and their lives.

Don't the people who prepare and serve your food deserve paid sick leave and time with their families?

Chipotle fast food has recently changed their benefits packages for their part-time employees to include paid sick days, vacation time, tuition reimbursement and other possible benefits, effective July 1st. Other fast food chains are also working on providing better working conditions, increased wages and benefit packages for the betterment of their employees’ lives.

Starbucks is providing some benefits to their part-time employees along with some special stipulations for workers at McDonald's especially those who have worked with the company on an extended basis.

Isn't it time for YUM Foods &mdash: which owns KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell — to do the same?

Urge YUM Foods to extend paid sick and vacation leave to part-time employees of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell

We, the undersigned, urge you to offer paid sick and vacation days along with other benefits to the part time workers at KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut.

Other fast food establishments like Starbucks already offer special benefits to their part time employees. Chipotle has a plan going into effect July 1st.

We are asking you to offer such opportunities to your fast food facility part time employees. Such opportunities will improve public health, workplace morale, and the quality of life for your employees.
