It has become impossible to police the poaching and exploitative hunting of exotic wildlife. Bribery and influence peddling are threatening the legitimate herd/pack/clan management of wildlife. A few bad apples have created this for everyone. Therefore, we must hit the issue head on. Refuse to aid in the exportation and importation process. Until an impact is felt, abuse will continue to go unchecked.

Fellow Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders,

As one who appreciates wildlife and nature, I am asking you to consider signing this petition. I have been a customs broker in the United States since 1997. I have worked in the trade for over 25 years, both as a freight forwarder as well as an importer and customs broker. As such, I know that the functions of both are necessary in facilitating the export and import of hunting trophies. I am asking that you, as a trade compliance professional, stop and consider the impact that trophy hunting has on exotic wildlife populations worldwide.  Unfortunately, the pervasive nature of bribary and influence peddling in many countries has circumvented legitimate wildlife management processes. It is time that we join together to halt this practice by influencing policy changes within our companies. Please refuse to process documentation for either export or import of exotic hunting trophies. I hope you will join me in raising awareness to put an end to exporting and importing of these trophies.
