Walmart's "Coupon Policy" Does Not Save Americans Money!

Walmart's mission statement is, "We save people money so they can live better." Yet they will not honor a coupon if their register beeps, even if the coupon meets their official Corporate Coupon Policy.

I'm a disabled veteran and my husband, who is also a veteran, works very hard to support our family.  I use coupons on a regular basis to save money and have never encountered a problem as I did today at the Walmart in Redlands, CA.  Any other retailer would verify the coupon was valid, the product was as described on the coupon, and manually enter the coupon with a smile.  It's deplorable that Walmart trusts its registers more than its employees or customers.

I did contact Walmart customer service and after being on hold for 21mins, I spoke to a customer service representative that stated she would have someone "above" the store manager contact me.  John, an assistant store manager did return my call but stood firm about the register's rejection.

Many Americans rely on the use of coupons to save money in these difficult economic times.  Sam Walton's company "purpose" states,  “If we work together, we’ll lower the cost of living for everyone…we’ll give the world an opportunity to see what it’s like to save and have a better life.”  I guess "working" together does not involve the customer.  Please sign this petition to inform Walmart their coupon policy should be enforced whether their registers like it or not!  Thank you!
