Tell L.L. Bean to Stop Selling Fur

  • by: Nyack Clancy
  • recipient: Christopher McCormick, President and CEO, L.L. Bean

L.L. Bean, a company that has been around 100 years, is still selling fur-lined hats and gloves and supporting the incredibly cruel fur industry.

50 millions animals are slaughtered for their fur every single year. Most of the fur comes from fur farms, where rabbits and minks are kept in tiny, filthy cages for years. They spend their entire miserable lives standing on cage floors made of thin wires, never having a chance to jump, dig, or play. Fur farmers kill the animals in horrible ways—some are killed by having their necks broken or their skulls beaten in, and others are killed by anal or vaginal electrocution.

Millions of coyotes, raccoons, bobcats and other species are caught in the wild using spring traps with metal teeth that smash bone and crush muscle. Animals can linger in excruciating pain for days without food or water before a trapper kills them. About one quarter of trapped animals escape by chewing off their own limbs.

Tell L.L. Bean to make the compassionate decision to stop selling any products that contain fur. Let L.L. Bean's President and CEO know that you will not shop at L.L. Bean until they go fur-free!
