Show Unedited Recording and Transcript of Gen. Flynn's Call with Russian Ambassador

To provide the people with a transparent and fair account of the details that led to the resignation of National Security Advisor, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

Retired Gen. Michael Flynn was forced to resign as National Security Advisor following allegations from US Intelligence Community (IC) leakers that he had discussed sanctions imposed on Russia by the Obama administration with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak, which Flynn had previously denied. Vice President Mike Pence repeated Flynn's denial on national television prior to the leaks, reportedly due to incomplete information relayed to him by Flynn. If Gen. Flynn indeed lied, he brought this scandal onto himself and deserved to be fired.

However, so far the public has been presented with no evidence that Flynn negotiated sanctions in exchange for favor or influence with the Russians, as opposed to merely answering a question about the subject. Moreover, the leaks have come amidst the professed withholding of information and insubordination against President Trump of elements within the IC. This potentially taints the whole Flynn scandal of political wrangling and a larger effort to force the hand of President Trump into accepting a foreign policy antithetical to normalizing US-Russia relations, one of the initiatives that President Trump openly proposed during the campaign before being democratically elected. It also sets a disastrous precedent about how differences in opinion on national security and foreign policy matters should be settled. In order to preserve the effectiveness and integrity of democratic American government institutions, it is imperative that established procedures are followed by the IC, which is supposed to work with and for the President for the benefit of the people as opposed to deciding its own course of action. How something is done matters as much as why and what is done.

News outlets that broke the story, including The Washington Post and The New York Times, have so far only relayed the accounts of the anonymous sources, without providing the unedited recordings of the phone calls between Flynn and Kislyak or their full-length transcripts. We ask for both in their unedited forms to be made public to the American people and concerned citizens of the world.

In order to have full transparency, a fair account of the Flynn scandal, and to determine whether Gen. Flynn's actions posed a threat to national security or were merely an extension of President Trump's stated attempts at improving relations with Russia, we must have complete evidence of the exchanges between Flynn and Kislyak as opposed to relying on secondhand accounts and interpretations.
