Justice for Janice

Justice for Janice

Everyone has a responsibility to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves. Janice was received into the care of an ACO facility after being dumped in a dog park with one bowl of food, and was received in such depraved condition that she had a noticeable skull deformity and was in an obviously neglected condition.

Those who were supposed to advocate for her, the ACO's at this facility, did nothing to intervene on her behalf and put into motion the felony charges which should have been filed.

The State of Oklahoma says it is a felony to deprive an animal of food, water, shelter, and medical care, and it is illegal to dump your animal. Unfortunately, these crimes are rarely enforced to the full extent of the law. The owners who perpetuate these crimes are rarely held accountable and so the trend continues to be a pervasive problem in our state because people know they can use and abuse animals and then discard them and they will never suffer any consequences.

It is unfortunately the same with humans too, children and spouses who are abused rarely get the justice they deserve.

We are often given the excuse that there are no funds to support the animals in city shelters and there are no funds to hire more people to investigate, and while this is true, it is also true that if these crimes were persecuted properly to begin with, more funding would become available to offset these costs. It's a cycle.

We took Janice into the rescue from a facility in July 2014 and she was adopted out in December 2014. We do not know how long she suffered at the hands of her abuser, or how severe the abuse really was. She has physical malformations that tell some of the story but we will never know the extent of her story. We are saddened by this but thankful that she is safe with us again and we hope to undo some of the damage that has been done, and begin the process anew of showing her humans can be trusted and she can receive love from them, not just mistreatment.

Right now we are looking at 2,000.00, just for her test, but these costs will more than likely exceed this amount.
We have received $345.00 to date and have already spent $550.00
We have sought leagal represintation for Janice.
Janice is scheduled for MRI, 2 MM Test.
Her blood work appeared all in the normal ranges, she is blind, but can see images after a few meals she has more energy and appeared to see better, giving kisses to her care takers.

We will have Justice for Janice!
We are gathering the information and will present it to the proper authorities.
