Let CAK Highschoolers Use Laptops

This year, the board of Christian Academy of Knoxville decided to equip all students not in high school with iPads, whereas prior to the decision, eighth grade students would purchase a laptop before entering the grade. I and many other students as well as parents and teachers feel that iPads do not accomplish the same education requirements nearly as well as laptops do. For example, the most commonly voiced dislikes about the iPads include but are not limited to: an inferior battery life, insufficient hardware and software, confusing mechanics, and difficulty printing. Also, most students will have to purchase a laptop when they go to college anyways! So, my proposal is that all students entering high school purchase a laptop to be used for the more difficult courses, and that all other iPads already bought by the school be reserved for new students in middle or elementary school. At the very least, give incoming high schoolers the option to buy their own laptops instead of being forced to use the insufficient iPads.
