MAKE PROSECUTION POSSIBLE OF GOVERNMENT LEADERS THAT DESTROY NATURAL RESERVES LIKE THE AMAZONE RAIN FORESTS

Let us make the prosecution possible of government leaders in relation to environmental crime (destruction of natural reserves). This crime is about extinction of unique animals and plants, and extinction of indigenous people. And in the end about the survival of all inhabitants of Planet Earth.

Worldwide, tropical rainforests and other precious forests and nature reserves are seriously threatened by "legal" and "illegal" logging and arson and exploitation for commercial gain. This is a direct threat to the survival of many animal species, plant species and ultimately also a threat to the survival of humans. The logging of forests has a direct serious impact on climate change, causing extreme weather conditions such as extreme heat, extreme drought, extreme hurricanes, and extreme amounts of precipitation, making areas ultimately unlivable and uninhabitable. For instance Brazil's new chosen president Bolsonaro favours business over biodiversity and calls for pro-market ways of exploiting Brazil's natural resources, notably coming out against the policy of reserving the 12% of the country's land for indigenous tribes. The far-right president-elect has also promised to weaken the enforcement of environmental laws, while criminalising activism. It is a package of measures that will have a huge impact on climate change. Sign/share our petition to stop this madness!

We call on the EU and the United Nations:
Just like with government leaders who are guilty of war crimes, arrange international law to make it possible to start criminal proceedings against government leaders that are responsible for and/or (directly or indirectly) guilty of the destruction of natural reserves, forests, tropical rain forests and other nature areas including marine life (for their own gain or for commercial purposes), so that these heads of government can be held responsible for this destruction, and can and will be prosecuted. In the interests of the survival of the earth and all its inhabitants.

Update #24 years ago
ITS NOW EVEN MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER: Forests are burnt down in the Amazone region, in Russia and in Asia and in many other places on earth. The political leaders don't take action, or even support these criminal acts. Animals and plants that took millions of years to develop, are extinct by us humans in just a few decades. THIS MUST STOP! Share our petition again with all your friends
