The rapid-fire Adler shotgun on its way to Australia threatens community safety, Gun Control Australia says.
The Turkish-made shotgun soon to be imported by one of Australia's leading gun lobby figures has become the latest front in the battle between the gun lobby and gun control activists, according to a report on ABC.net.au
The gun has a magazine capacity of seven rounds, with another round in the barrel - its lever action allows shots to be fired in quick succession. One of the biggest concerns is the gun will be available in most states with just the most accessible firearms licence.
Australia experienced the devastating Port Arthur massacre, which is what heralded a change in gun laws. We do not want to see another tragedy.
