Stop the commerical development of apartments on public lands of Channel Islands Harbor

At the June 14, 2016 Ventura County Board of Supervisors meeting a proposal to place a 390 high density, 55ft high luxury apartment complex on Fisherman’s Wharf was approved. The Board of Supervisors ignored a petition of 3700 signatures in objection to the project which will use public lands for private economic exploitation.

  • Inappropriate Use of Public Lands
  • Piecemeal Planning and Lack of Vision
  • No Environmental Study Performed
  • Disproportional benefit to the developer
  • Reduction in Boat Launch Parking (4 acres)
  • Inadequate assessment of Impact

As concerned citizens we urge the California Coastal Commission to uphold the California Coastal Act of 1976 and your mission of “protecting and enhancing California’s coast and ocean for present and future generations”…

• Reject this proposal and demand a Harbor Wide Development & Business Plan with Stakeholder Participation
• Require a Harbor Wide look at environmental Impact Study
• Stop the piecemeal development in Channel Islands Harbor
