Stand Up For Our Medical Benefits

  • by: GT Davis

Currently we at UAL are in negotiations with the company for a new contract. As of the last proposal presented to the company from our IBT Negotiators they have submitted a 80-20% health plan. Something the company has been pushing for and the Airline Division has been sponsoring for the company.

The Airline Division explains that the company refuses to budge on this issue and it's useless to fight it. Now the negotiators seem to be on board with this additude despite the memberships refusal to accept their explanation.

UAL stole our pension and now they want our medical. At what point do we say "enough is enough?" It seems our negotiators think we are not willing to fight for this benefit, so, I present to you this petition that will be delivered to the IBT, our negotiators and the company negotiators. If you are ready to stand up for our medical plan then I ask you to sign this petition and share it with our fellow members at SUAL and SCAL. Let them hear us loud and clear! Do not bring us a concessionary contract that includes a concessionary medical benefit.

You may also leave a message when signing this petition. Please be professional and considerate.  GT Davis

My name is GT Davis and I am a UAL Mechanic out of Denver who have had numerous conversations with my fellow mechanics and a couple of our negotiators. I have grown tired of the excuses why we must give concessions to this company. We lost our pension and our esop. We were once 15000 in numbers and now after the merger we are about 8000 and shrinking. Outsourcing of our work continues while UAL has earned $5.4b in ancillary fees last year and increasing this year. Our CEO is the highest paid in the industry yet they want to degrade our medical benefits. Again taking from the workers who built this company. If you feel the same as I do then please share this petition. It will remain open until December 31st where then I will submit it to our decision makers. Thank you. GT Davis
