Tell Iowa Officials to Protect Companion Animals

The Des Moines Register states that ten of the nation's 100 worst puppy mills are based in Iowa, according to a report from the Humane Society of the United States. But federal policies make it almost impossible for the public to learn where they are or who operates them. Iowa is ranked 49th in the nation for animal protection laws.
In recent weeks, there has been a large-scale puppy mill rescue, a dog literally thrown in a dumpster to die, and a ridiculously lax plea deal offered to an Iowa man charged with 40 counts of animal neglect. Undoubtedly, there are many more cases that have not reached the media.
Tell Governor Kim Reynolds and Iowa Legislators that Iowa can and MUST do better!
