Many fans of the SOCOM franchise for PlayStation have been very displeased over the last 5 years. That displeasure peaked after the release of SOCOM 4 in April of 2011. Fans were looking for a much better game after what was at that point considered to be a disappointing SOCOM Confrontation title that Slant Six Games released. However, as time passed, the fans began to realize that the title Slant Six Games released was in fact a very good product. Reason being Slant Six seemed to really try to give what the fans were looking in for through downloadable content and the style in which fans wanted.
One of the "cons" of SOCOM 4 was it was no longer a third-person shooter game like the previous titles. The game itself seemed to be adapting to styles similar titles such as Call of Duty, and Battlefield. Fans want to the style of the previous SOCOM titles instead of an adapted version to try and compete with other top tier titles for the PlayStation 3.
Slant Six Games in the end, delivered a product that was as close to the PlayStation 2 titles that all SOCOM fans came to know and love. Allowing Slant Six Games to develop another SOCOM title would not only please the fans, but benefit local economies through sales of a product.
