Memphis Animal Shelter puts your family pets to death daily.

Dear citizens of Memphis, My name is Micah Davis-Bowen, Im 16 years old and I attend Power Center Academy High School and I am the voice of the animals. When I grow up I would like to be a Clinical Veterinarian or an Animal Rights Attorney.I want to start an animal rights revolution because although they can't talk they do have feelings just as humans do. One day my day will come but first I need to try and start small. One place I can start is with the Memphis Animal Shelter on Appling Road. Over the years this particle shelter has had multiple investigations and accusations some have been proven true dealing with activities such as dog fighting, animal cruelty, and unaccounted for animals linked to the shelter. Not only do they kill thousands of animals a year but, they don't do carry out this practice the correct way. The humane way to put an animal down is to use a sedative injection followed by a lethal solution injected into their hearts. This allows the animal to die peacefully and calmly quite similar to falling asleep. But at the shelter in a 2012 incident it was found that sometimes neither one of the injections are use. Two employees were actually charged with aggravated animal cruelty for choking an animal to death. Just think if this was your family pet that had only been missing for a couple of days how would you feel? If this dog was owned by someone was the family even notified and if they weren't why not? I don't know about most people but for me losing one of animals is just as hurtful as when I lose a family member. I understand not everyone is an animal person but, everyone still should have a heart for a creature that can't even care for itself. Please take the time to sign my petition and share. Just think by doing this you could save an animal's life and change their life forever. Thank You
