Thank you to everyone who signed the petition to save Marius the giraffe. Sadly, the Copenhagen Zoo went ahead with its plans and, on Sunday, February 9, Marius was killed. He was publicly dissected in front of visitors to the zoo and then his remains fed to the lions.
we've got signatures, help us get to 1,000 by February 8, 2015
Marius was killed by bolt gun on Sunday, February 9. Please sign this petition calling for the removal of Bengt Holst from his position as scientific director at the Copenhagen Zoo. Take action now so other innocent animals do not suffer the same fate as Marius!
A six month old giraffe in Copenhagen Zoo is destined to be killed tomorrow (Sunday, February 9) by bolt gun because he is deemed 'surplus'.
His fate is to be fed to other animals at the zoo.
Put a stop to this NOW. Marius deserves to live and there must be somewhere for him to go.
The zoo has raised him so it is their responsibility to find him a home, no matter how long it takes. They must not be allowed to take the easy option.
