The Pets Trust

  • by: Pamela Sokol
  • recipient: Miami-Dade's Mayor Carlos Gimenez

In November of 2012, nearly 500,000 Miami-Dade County voters voted YES to raise property taxes to improve Animal Service. On Wednesday, July 10, 2013, Mayor Gimenez nixed the same taxpayer-supported plan to stop killing unwanted animals at county shelters. Ironically, the Mayor supported the same taxpayer plan the day before!

On Tuesday, July 15, 2013, Pet's Trust hired Ron Brooks plans to address the County Commission at a budget meeting outside Government Center along with Pet's Trust advocates. We encourage people who voted "yes" along with all animal advocates to attend. We are meeting at The Government Center at 9:00 am in downtown Miami, Florida. We need your support to stop the killing of 20,000 Dogs and cats each year.

Rally at The Government Center on Tuesday, July 16th at 9:00 am.
