Right now the Skidmore College Dining Hall offers paper to-go cups for hot drinks. These paper cups are usually thrown in the trash after a single use and create a lot of unnecessary waste on Skidmore's campus. I would like to see the eradication of paper cups in our dining hall. These paper cups are unnecessary. They are located right next to reusable mugs at the coffee and tea station that students can use to drink coffee and tea at the dining hall instead of wasteful paper cups. Also, if students are interested in taking drinks to go they could use personal mugs and thermoses instead. Getting rid of paper cups would encourage students to find personal reusable containers instead. Skidmore is an amazing college with an incredible dining hall. I would love to see this passionate community come together to make a small change with a huge impact. Getting rid of paper cups would greatly reduce campus waste and the carbon footprint of the Skidmore community as a whole.
