URGE GMO LABELING AND A CHANGE OF FOOD CZARS NOW!!!

This is two petitions I still have going, combined into one. When I wrote the first GMO (genetic MUTANT organism) petition and sent it it was immediately signed by someone against the petition and manipulated its computer so its signature appeared 1st - ahead of even mine in sequence AND in the time it was signed! PRO-GMO things are NOT to be trusted. Vermont has already approved the labeling requirement but has been taken to court. Join Vermont. Let everyone in this country know where GMOs are lurking!

What follows are the two previous petitions: Please excuse the length.

The tobacco industry fought to keep Surgeon General warnings off cigarettes and that is what Monstersinto and the food industry is doing now: claiming there are no proven dangers. They spent $$$millions in Oregon and barely squeaked out their selfish wish.

Too many people are falling for the 'It'll cost more to label and the products will cost more' campaign. Ask yourself: How many times have I seen a package that had, in prominent lettering, 'NEW LOOK! SAME GREAT TASTE!', or labels saying 'gluten-free!', and '0 grams trans fats per serving!'? Were those labels always on the packaging? Did the prices hike? NO! The industry WANTS us to see those bits of info and are prompt to add them to the packaging as trends dictate.

They shouldn't bother. They'll just higher an image corp. that'll come up with something like: 'Proudly Made With 100% American GMOs!'

But GMOs are already everywhere. Monstersinto knows what it's doing. It GMOed alfalfa, a major crop for cattle feed...so the GMOs get into beef. It GMOed sugar beets, from which most of this country's sugar supply comes...and sugar's everywhere. It GMOed corn, a major crop for oils and syrups and sweeteners, AND the basic crop for hogs (pork) and most other livestock species. It GMOed soy beans: think of how often those are on nutrition labels. And and and IT has GMOs nearly everywhere...except on labels:

It's the one place they SHOULD be! [Addition: GMO apples have begun!]

President Obama, you have often claimed to be for the environment - favorably for - why do you have a former MONSTERSINTO (monsanto) exec, Michael Taylor, as your food czar? Get rid of him. NOW!! He's all for GMOs...but you know that.

People: Demand the President change food czars and get someone who cares more about our health and what we eat than how much $$$ Monstersinto can make!!

[Added after 28 signatures:  Signature #25 was from the same thing that was recorded as signature #1, on my original petition, 3 minutes before I submitted it.  It claims the bar code contains the info and we should learn to read it. People should not have to go to extra lengths and spend more time of their finite days doing something the greedy corps and monstersinto should do before a food ever reaches a store. They are the ones with something to hide, which is why they are holding up the process in Vermont. And bar codes are not always on fresh produce that is sold by weight.  No one should have to take a smart phone to scan bar codes (if that is what the signer meant by being able to tell what is in the product); and many don't have such tools. I read written labels and I've never yet seen 'contains GMOs' or 'may contain GMOs'. (Signature #25 has been deleted.)]
