Urge HTEC Administration to Improve School Lunch & Give Seniors Open Campus!

Many students have brought up the issue that the lunch at HTEC is not only unappetizing, but in some cases, the lunch is not edible, meaning the food is expired. Since HTEC does not have an open campus lunch, students have no choice but to either eat the food or not eat at all. We, the students of HTEC should have the freedom to decide not only what we wan to eat, but where we should eat. Having this option would require for HTEC to adopt an open campus policy for seniors. If HTEC were to have an open campus policy, it would give the seniors the privilege to leave campus during lunch hours under identified conditions.
We propose an agreement between the HTEC administration and the school, giving seniors that fit certain criteria to be allowed to leave during their lunch period. in order for seniors to be eligible for open campus they must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and their attendance must be over 80%. The student and their parent/guardian would have to sign and agree to these terms. This would allow seniors to leave only for the lunch period. The student must be responsible to be back on time before the bell rings for the following period.
