We want to extend our admiration and support to the incentive for Peace and Life, which is "The Patriotic March" and also the emergence of the new political movement NATIONAL PATRIOTIC COUNCIL. We send you best wishes of success from the bottom of our hearts!
We, the descendants of Simon Bolivar and Manuela Saenz, offspring of the Patria Grande, and who, due to political or social motivations have had to emigrate, and we, the friends of Colombia and peace, see this process as the only hope for another Colombia. We all want and believe it is possible to have a free and sovereign Colombia without war and foreign intervention!
We believe that this exercise of popular power is a big leap toward the second and true independence, where everyone will fit, where wealth is redistributed and does not remain just in the hands of a few, and thinking differently is not a death sentence; where the common good will prevail over the good of a few. We believe in a place without disappearances or "false positives", never again shall we have to face that! A Second Independence in which the love for Colombia and Latin American integration will triumph!

Why and wherefore of the Marcha Patriótica?
Thousands of people took to Bogota's streets on Monday, April 23, to celebrate the birth of Colombia's new leftist political movement, 'The National Patriotic Council'. It was estimated that over 80.000 women and men, Workers, families of Missing People and of Political Prisoners, the Unemployed, Indigenous, Afro-Caribbean, Peasants, Students, Academics, LGBT and environmentalists, attended the march, many of them arriving to the capital city after making long journeys across the country.
The 'National Patriotic Council' is made up of over 1700 social organizations that seek to propose a new way of doing politics, to build Peoples power, to end the war in Colombia within a political solution to the social, economic and armed conflict and aiming towards the Latin-American integration. For a second and final Independence!
Prominent leftist politicians like former Senator Piedad Cordoba and Congressman Ivan Cepeda have offered their support for the political party.
