Make Slugs Great Again!

    The unit pound mass (lbm) has infiltrated our education system and is causing much confusion with students understanding of newtonian physics (classical mechanics). This problem can easily be solved by using the base unit of mass, the slug.

    For those that do not know,

    1lbm=lbf/(32.2ft/s^2)

    1slug=1lbf/(1ft/s^2)

    Slugs can be used to calculate weight very easily by using the formula F=ma. Pounds mass does not follow this formula and must be converted to find weight.

    Make Slugs Great Again! (Or abandon US customary units altogether)
