More Low-Income Housing In Niagara Falls! The Last Thing This City Needs!

DePaul Properties inc. along with Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital are proposing to build a 50 unit apartment complex on the former 39th Street School site. The 13.5 million dollar proposed property is being built with State grants and Subsidies. This funding is designated for mental health.

The development company tried to advertise this as affordable housing for Veterans. After extensive research it has been revealed as Low-income housing for people with mental health issues.  They are trying to build this in a well maintained residential area where it's very presence will decrease property value. There are vacant low-income properties everywhere in Niagara Falls the last thing we need is more. It is time we stopped building low-income properties with tax dollars and start developing projects for tax payers and creating opportunities where we wouldn't require low-income properties. Maybe businesses or industry.
