We need your help to stop cats from being killed unnecessarily

Since 1998, over 100,000 cats have been killed at our local animal shelter at taxpayer expense.  We are seeking to amend both the city and county animal ordinances to legalize a Trap/Neuter/Return Program.  A TNR program allows for the legal trapping of free roaming cats, neutering or spaying surgery and returning the cat to its colony’s location.  The sterilization of these cats will drastically decrease the number of kittens born (and currently being killed) each year.  Legalization of TNR will allow organizations to qualify for private TNR grants which would fund the sterilizations of these free roaming cats.  All it takes is your signature on this petition as well as a commitment to attend the ordinance review meetings to show your support. Adoption of this program would allow for our hard earned tax payer dollars to fund more meaningful projects.
