Save the Sea Turtles Reuse Bags!

Over 1 million sea turtles die each year due to plastic bags. National Geographic counted 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic waste in the ocean, and 269,000 tons of that floats, which includes plastic bags that look like jellyfish. Turtles eat these plastic bags in place of jellyfish. When turtles eat plastic bags, sometimes they think that they are full but they are starving to death. Other times, their intestines get clogged and they float, and are unable to reach their food under the surface of the ocean. Plastic bags take from 500 years to literally forever to break down. They only break down into plastic bits, and harm populations of ocean life. And that's only turtles!! Sadly, in addition biodegradable bags don’t break down fast enough, and digestible bags aren’t strong enough to hold your groceries. We are asking you to sign this petition, so that we can eliminate plastic bags, reducing the casualties of marine life from this state! You should do what’s right not what’s easy! If you put the work to a cleaner ocean off now, we will have more to clean later.if plastic bags are unavailable our oceans will be cleaner.
