Ban Horse Carriages in NYC

  • by: Animal Advocates

On Thursday, August 16, a carriage horse became spooked and burst out of line. The 6 year old draft gelding named Oreo dumped the carriage driver and two passengers, struck two cars and ran free for 4 blocks- injuring 3 people.

The accident was the latest mishap involving carriage horses near Central Park. The periodic accidents, some of them resulting in serious injuries, are one of the reasons we seek to  ban the carriage-horse trade in New York.

We ask that you ban horse drawn carriages in New York City once and for all.
