Demand End To Production of Warehouses on Jimmy De Loach

Residents here at Morgan Lakes Property LLC would like to express our utter disappointment in hearing on the rezoning plans made for the land surrounding our homes. In an article posted by savannahnow.com it was stated that "the Farm community’s property owners association expressed no objections to the rezone when it was presented to them", which to our knowledge is a lie. We have great concerns with this matter and are not okay with surrounding our homes with warehouses and the dangers of constant tractor trailer traffic that this would bring. We also would like to maintain our property value which will definitively go down as these factories are built. Furthermore, the local school is anundated with students of current residents and expected to get worse with all the new developments being built beggining with the New Haven apartments as well as the Latitude apartments on Benton.  Where will the kids who move in to these subdivisions go to school.  This is something that affects everyone in this area.  The highlands have also expressed their disapproval as well and are also fighting for this rezoning of factories to stop.  WE ALL GREATLY OPPOSE THIS and were never formerly asked what our thoughts were on this matter.

We the people of Godley Station School, Hunt Club, The Highlands and Morgan Lake Farms are outraged at the decision of rezoning factories into our neighborhoods.  The congestion that occurs in these areas on a daily basis is tough enough now with just the extension of the bridge on Jimmy De Loach bringing an enormous amount of traffic into our neighborhoods and will only worsen if factories are placed here.  The road leading from Benton on Jimmy De Loach is known for car accidents and experiences a mass amount of children in transport to and from school into these neighborhoods so adding tons of tractor trailers is very dangerous.  Just last month a tractor trailer turned on its side causing major delays and traffic during the morning commute.  With all the new developments in this neighborhood it would me more logical to add schools to better accomodate the needs of our children.  What will become of Godley Station school once these new developments are made?  They are currently holding classes in trailers because there is no space.  Yet another positive addition would be a local hospital seeming that the nearest one is a grueling 30 to 40 minutes away in Savannah.  We all purchased homes in this neighborhood with the intentions of living at peace in a community where our children could grow and be safe.  It is unfair to sweep this right from under us without giving us a chance to voice our opinions and be heard, which is exactly what happened on September 20th with the decision passed down.  Do not stray away from doing the right thing on this and think about the families that are being unfairly represented and mistreated by being treated like mutes while others make decisions that affect the foundation of what we call home.
