Slow Down for Safety in Mintworth Village

I need your help. I recently submitted a request to Charlotte DOT for multi-way stop signs for traffic calming at 3 Intersections on Bathurst Dr (Macquarie Ln (NE End), Mintworth Ave, at Macquarie Ln (SW End).

We are all impacted by cars that drive through our neighborhood at very high speeds on Bathurst and at times on Macquarie Ln. With the way Bathurst Dr winds through from Harris Teeter to the next adjacent Subdvision on through to Idlewild vehicles continue to speed uninterruptedly through our neighborhood putting all of us at risk of harm. With our curved streets & our street-side parking, we have blind spots for ourselves, pedestrians, as well as the speeders. Cars almost come out of no where at high rates of speed, especially for a very small subdivision like Mintworth Village.

All in all this could be a major accident waiting to happen. If you agree, I would like for you to sign our "Slow Down for Safety in Mintworth Village" petition to permit the Charlotte Dept. of Transportation to place multi-way stops signs at the intersections listed.

Calming down the traffic in our neighborhood will not only promote safety but an enhanced quality of life for our families and friends that visit us.
