Sanford will be opening a new hospital in July of 2017 south of Interstate 94. This location will be approximately 7.5 miles away from the current Child Development Center downtown. While the Child Development Center is extremely convenient for employees that will continue to work in the current location, it will add significant inconvenience to employees who will be working at the new hospital who are fortunate enough to have their children attend the center.
Fargo/Moorhead is facing a childcare shortage. Loving, competent, affordable, safe childcare can be difficult to come by, especially for employees who tend to work non-traditional hours. Opening a second center that is near the new hospital would be an excellent employee recruitment and retention point that could increase all-around job satisfaction for Sanford employees.
By signing this petition, you are asking Sanford to please consider making the investment in Sanford employees and open a second Child Development Center near the new facility.
