Support Animal Compassion Team (ACT) to Receive Contract for Animal Control in Fresno County

Thousands of animals died at the hands of Liberty Animal Control. Incoming puppies and dogs were not vaccinated and died from Parvo and Distemper. EVERY Sunday the vet/owner killed many dogs to make room for the ones they would receive the coming week. The dogs did not have enough food and volunteers were not allowed.

In 2009, ACT was founded with the intention of making real change in our community and making Fresno a safer place to be an animal. Much sacrifice has been made on all our parts to make these goals come true. Today in 2015, our commitment to the animals is as strong as ever, and our goal to bring about change remains a priority. We are excited and proud to announce that Animal Compassion Team in conjunction with Dr. Lee-Ann Dumars has officially submitted a proposal to take over County Animal Control services in Fresno. We know what a daunting task this will be, but we believe that change has to be made and we are ready to take on the challenge.

Once again, we ask you all to roll up your sleeves and take ACTion for the animals of our valley. ACT and the Sofia Center will continue to be the safe haven you all know, but ACT and our trusted partners would be able to supervise the operations of County animal control, as well. We are accepting this task with the intentions of spearheading a new non-profit organization that will provide the safety net we have all been asking for as rescuers. If our proposal is accepted we believe we can make a change in our valley and set the bar for how our valley animals are treated. Our journey has just begun.

Please vote to accept the proposal from Animal Compassion Team (ACT) and Dr. Lee-Ann Dumars for a new management plan and agency for Fresno County's animal control efforts. ACT has a demonstrated track record of compassionate, humane, and effective management of animals and volunteers, and would be an enormous asset to the county if their work was officially supported in this way.
