Bring Sushi back home - encourage HC Sheriff's department to step up

We wanted to reach out the Houston residents. Hopeful that our family will get a chance to reunite with Sushi, our beloved yorkie, who we have had for 11 years.
On December 5. 2014, Sushi went missing. Around 3:49pm, we received a phone call from someone claiming to have found a yorkie. When asked if he still had her, he quickly responded...."she ranaway". A couple of weeks went by and a for sale ad on Craigslist pops up. The phone number posted matches the phone number who contacted us the day Sushi went missing. The phone number traces to an address in our neighborhood. The police have been involved. It's been over a month since a police investigator has been assigned to our case and have yet to receive a response. This is by far the easiest case to close. The Harris County Sherriff's Department have all evidence leading to the minor who knows where Sushi went. There are numerous pets out there all over the world who have not been reunited with their family because our pets have fallen into the wrong hands looking to make a quick profit. Many people would say you can not put a price tag on our fur babies, but to see them for sale for $50, $250, etc...How can the Harris County Sheriff Department not even simply return a phone call? or even take the situation seriously. We have done all the leg work in finding answers to clues where Sushi was at. Now it's time to get some answers from the minor who last or still has Sushi. This is a living creature and most importantly our family. How can we let this go? Why? because Sushi fell in the hands of a minor? what kind of lesson is this teaching our kids? That it is okay to steal. That no one will ever hold them accountable because they are considered a minor? This could happen to you whether it's your missing fur baby or your child who needs to be directed in the right path and needs help. It has come to the stage where it is no longer safe to leave your dog in the backyard alone, even with fences and gates. It's heartbreaking to be a victim of this crime knowing that the police seem to do very little in catching these thieves, when all the evidence are in their hands. The Harris County Sherriff's department needs to step up and see what is happening? Action must be taken. Dog theft should be treated as human kidnapping.
