Catholic Church -- Back Off Gay Marriage!

The Roman Catholic Church brought their opposition against civil gay marriage to a whole new level with a letter from two senior archbishops that was read in services in 2,500 churches.

The letter was from Archbishop Vincent Nichols, head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, and Archbishop Peter Smith, the Archbishop of Southwark, who said it was their job to protect traditional marriage.

Right now, Prime Minister David Cameron is going forward with proposing full marriage rights for same-sex couples. Britain as of now only has civil partnerships.

Everyone deserves the right to marry and love. Religious views of a few shouldn't get in the way of equal rights, but unfortunately they have and do. Please tell the Catholic Church to back off gay marriage and help clear the way for equality to become a reality.

Please, as people in an authoritative position, no longer use your time and energy to oppose equal rights for same-sex couples. Everyone has the right to their own beliefs, but they do not have the right to force their beliefs on others. The LGBT community deserves to be treated equally under the law, and as of now, they are not, largely due to religious groups like the Catholic Church. Please back off equal rights and help clear the way for equality to become a reality.
