End parking on single yellow lines outside Fulwood St Peters School

I am asking for your support in making an end to parking on single yellow lines outside the primary school 3 of my children attend. A single yellow line denotes no parking with the exception to those carrying a disabled badge and the emergency services.

I for one never park on these lines and always find an appropriate place to park safely and away from the school gates.

The amount of times I've been present when a parent mounts the curb and then opens the door making me grab my children who are quite rightly walking on the pavement is countless.

Children are trying to cross between parked cars as there is simply no other option.

This needs to stop and drivers need reeducating with the Highway Code.

I fear that it may take an accident which could quite easily be fatal for action to commence.

I'd walk miles to collect my children rather than park in an comprimised spot.

They are so particular at school to teach the children where and when to cross to them be faced with a street full of parked cars on both sides? How can we expect the children to take this code seriously when right outside their school is utter chaos?

Please sign this petition, I'm not asking for much but it could save a child's life.

Thank you for your support.
