Say No To Dundrum Local Area Plan

Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has published a draft Local Area Plan for Dundrum. We are in disagreement with this plan in its current format for various reasons, and we are looking for local residents with the same views to sign our petition.

High-rise buildings

Have you concerns about Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown County Council's Local Area Plan statement regarding the developers proposed high rise Dundrum Village SHD ? "Allow for greater height along the Bypass (of up to 11 storeys) in alternating heights to create visual interest". In our opinion, it appears this statement contradicts the DLR 120 page report in 2022 urging An Bord Pleanala to reject the developers scheme, which they said "was in conflict with the county development plan in a number of respects".

Road closures & One-way systems
Have you concerns about the one-way system in Dundrum Village and the plan for more road closures throughout Dundrum to limit accessibility to motorists ? We feel this will not only damage local businesses more, but it will also exclude a significant segment of our society that is older and finds it difficult to either walk everywhere or cycle a bike.

Bus Gates & Public Car Parks

The proposal to have busy bus gates run through residential roads in Dundrum is of concern to many in our community. Also, if the Dundrum Village SHD receives approval, both car parks will be closed for development, which again will affect residents, especially the elderly in our community or people with mobility issues.
