Urge the City of Ottawa to help fund Volunteer Ottawa’s services

Unlike many other Volunteer Centres across the country, Volunteer Ottawa does not receive funding from the city. Our core funding has been cut significantly over the last four years and we continue to face financial challenges that prevent us from expanding and enhancing our services to help Ottawa's non-profits and charities access volunteers and capacity development.

The City of Ottawa currently funds over 300 other Ottawa non-profits. We are calling on our supporters to please ask the City of Ottawa to fund Volunteer Ottawa's services.
This petition is important because:

1. Over 8,625 volunteers access VO's free volunteer matching service. We help empower all Ottawa citizens, including New Canadians, People with Disabilities, Seniors & Youth, accessing our services, to make a meaningful impact in their communities, build their resumes, hone skills, and meet new people.

2. Through training, community events and volunteer matching, VO builds community by strengthening the non-profit sector. We have nearly 300 member organizations ranging from organizations who service the homeless to organizations who provide support for cancer survivors.

3. Without reliable funding, we may not be able to continue to offer or enrich our important community services.

Please sign your support to help us secure funding from the City of Ottawa to enable us to continue to offer and expand our programs and services to the city's non-profit community and to volunteers like you.
