Save Our Teacher Assistants at NRW

You should sign this because the Board of Education is getting rid of teacher assistants in our school. If we get enough people to sign this we could show the Board of Education how many people are against this and hopefully keep our teacher assistants.
The teacher assistants help the children that need it so they can get as much of the help they need like kids who don't need it. They also help the teachers by taking away some of the things they had to worry about. It says on the website http://www.theguardian.com/teacher-network/2015/apr/01/teaching-assistants-classrooms-research-impact "TAs help reduce stress, workload and disruptions during class." Instead of firing them you can direct the meaning of TAs to something else regarding all students. It says "TAs can help students take ownership of their learning, encouraging them to ask questions and take risks." If you give it time TAs are the people who will have the most positive effect on students. It says "Evidence shows that TAs have the most positive effect – around three or four months’ worth of extra academic progress across the year." If you explain to the students how TAs work maybe there would be a bit of a change. It says "schools must make sure that students understand how their TA intervention connects to their formal learning. Interventions often happen away from the classroom. Since teachers and TAs struggle to find time to collaborate, many students are left to work out how what they have learned with the TA fits into the curriculum." And last but not least TAs are not a impact on budget. it says " Schools spend approximately 13% of the education budget on support staff." If you cant afford to put forth 13% of the money the school makes to give TAs paychecks then you don't have enough money to get the schools anything new like iPads, new computers, new desks and chairs, ect.
