Fire Racist Police Officers Who Brutally Detained Innocent NFL Star

In an infuriating letter posted to Twitter, the Seahawks' all-world NFL defensive lineman Michael Bennett details abusive treatment from Las Vegas police officers.

While attending the Mayweather-McGregor fight, Bennett was in a crowd running from the sound of gunshots. LVPD singled him out, pointed their guns at him and forced him to the ground, threatening to "blow my f*#$ing head off." The officers jammed a knee into his back, roughly cuffed him, and forced him into a police car, ignoring his repeated requests to tell them why he was being abusively detained.

Once the police realized the mistake they made in selecting THIS black man to abuse, Mr. Bennett was released without any sort of sensible explanation.

This incident MUST be investigated, and the officers involved must be fired. As Mr. Bennett states in his letter, he was targeted and abused "for simply being a black man in the wrong place at the wrong time."

It is time for police leadership to send a clear message that it's not a crime to walk while black, and it is unacceptable for police officers to abuse people without cause. No more paid vacations for outrageous police behavior. Fire the officers now and fix racist police practices.
