Label all meat products according to the method of slaughter

  • by: Ian Fisher
  • recipient: The UK Food Standards Agency, the UK Government and all the stores who are deceiving the UK food buyers

The Welfare of Animals (Slaughter of Killing) Regulations 1995 requires all animals to be stunned before they are slaughtered. Jewish and Muslim communities are exempt from a section of this law.

By not labelling meat products according to the method of slaughter consumers are not able to make an informed decision about how they act, feel and respond to buying meat products.

David Cameron refused to intervene on the issue. His spokesman said: 'The Prime Minister's view is that it is an issue of consumer choice and consumer information'.

if we don't have consumer information how can we have consumer choice?

Halal meat sold at Halal counters is labelled as such but Halal meat sold in other parts of the same store are not. Vote to get the Food Standards Agency to force ALL meat products to show method of slaughter.
